ClearTrial Executive Andrew Grygiel Named Chair of CHI's Summit for Clinical Operations Executives (SCOPE) Conference

Company expert also presenting industry case studies on faster and more accurate clinical study planning and budgeting

Chicago, IL – February 3, 2011

ClearTrial, the leading provider of software for the planning, forecasting, and tracking of clinical project and financial performance, announced today that the company has been selected to serve as a conference chair for Cambridge Healthtech Institute's (CHI) Summit for Clinical Operations Executives (SCOPE) Conference.  Andrew Grygiel, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for ClearTrial, will open the conference's Clinical Trial Forecasting, Budgeting, and Project Management Track.  Attended each year by more than 400 key biopharmaceutical and medical device executives, SCOPE features best practice case studies and interactive discussions relevant to clinical operations experts.

In addition, Kristin Mauri, Director, Clinical Services for ClearTrial, will present "Achieving Fast, Accurate Clinical Study Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting" at the conference.  Her presentation will examine industry data explaining why biopharmaceutical and medical device companies are drawing a line in the sand regarding acceptable budget variances, with many holding the line at a 5% allowable variance.  She will also provide an assessment of leading study costing methods, together with real-world case studies of leading companies that are successfully compressing study timelines, reducing costs, and mitigating risks through more effective planning.

Conference organizers have also called upon Mauri to moderate a SCOPE roundtable discussion, "Effective Resource Forecasting."  This roundtable will address questions critical to managing resources and decision-making to improve outcomes, including:

  • What techniques are study sponsors utilizing to forecast resource demand?
  • Which methods provide the most accurate forecasts?
  • Which methods allow for the greatest flexibility to shift resources as the situation changes?

"ClearTrial is honored to have been invited by Cambridge Healthtech Institute to play a key role at this noteworthy conference," said Grygiel.  "We look forward to continuing our mission of disseminating industry research and best practices to help life sciences companies gain greater efficiencies in clinical development, bringing important treatments to market faster."

The CHI SCOPE conference is being held February 7-9, 2011 at the Westin Colonnade Coral Cables in Miami, Florida.  For more information or to register, visit http://www.scopesummit.com/.
